United States: Just under 18,000 containers of ice cream and frozen yogurt are being recalled due to the presence of plastic items.
More about the news
Ice cream company Wells Enterprises, based in Iowa, sprang into action by recalling some of its products last month.
The Associated Press reports that the company’s brands include Blue Bunny and Halo Top ice creams.
The frozen yogurt and ice cream affected by the recall come in thirty-two-ounce containers, and the recall covers twenty-two of their available flavors.
Thousands of tubs of over a dozen ice cream varieties were recalled due to potential plastic contamination.

This product’s code is valid from March 2026 to October 2026. Part of the ice cream went to food suppliers and local restaurants.
Among the businesses were Gordon Food Service, US Foods, Sysco Corp, Johnny Rockets, and Planet Smoothie restaurants, the AP found.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has listed the recall on its website, though it did not send out a press release to inform the public.
If you received one of the items on the FDA’s recall list, do not unseal or eat it.
You should either hand it in at the store where you bought it for a refund or get rid of it so no one will consume it, according to the FDA.
